About PapaAgric
Between the farm gate and the mill door
We buy where the crop is grown and sell where it is needed — and take responsibility for everything that happens to it in between.
Who we are
We buy where the crop is grown, and we sell where it is needed
Ghanaian smallholders grow good grain and struggle to find a buyer who will pay a posted price on agreed terms. Millers, processors and exporters need a known specification arriving on a known date, and struggle to find a supplier who can hold to one.
PapaAgric work both ends of that gap. We aggregate from a standing network of farmer groups, we supply the inputs that network plants, and we condition, store and add value to what we buy so that it is still worth something in March. What leaves our warehouse is graded against a written specification and tagged back to the farm it came from.

How we deal
Four things we hold to
Aggregation runs on trust that has to survive a bad season. These are the commitments that make the next harvest's conversation easier than the last one's.
A posted price
Buying prices go out to farmer groups before the harvest window opens, and we buy at them. A price that moves once the crop is already on the truck is not a price.
Grade in the open
Moisture and grade are assessed at intake, in front of the farmer who grew the lot. Disagreements get settled at the scale, not after the payment has been cut.
Traceable lots
Every lot carries its source through cleaning, grading and storage. When a buyer queries a consignment we can say where it came from rather than guess.
Cover what you sell
We would rather decline a contract than deliver short against one. Reliability is the whole product in this trade; volume without it is worth very little.
How we got here
From one rented shed to a trading book
2016
First season
PapaAgric begins as a maize buying operation working out of a single rented shed, aggregating from farmer groups within a day's drive of Accra.
2019
Grading and storage
Cleaning and drying capacity comes online, and the business moves from reselling what it buys to conditioning and holding it through the lean season.
2022
The network formalises
Community-level intake points replace ad-hoc buying, input supply begins on recovery terms, and the farmer network passes a thousand growers.
2024
Into the iFeed group
PapaAgric takes its place under iFeed Agribusiness & Farms in the Safo-Sarpong Group, supplying the group's own offtake demand alongside its open-market trading book.
The wider group
An iFeed Agribusiness & Farms company · Safo-Sarpong Group
PapaAgric is the group's aggregation, trading and value-addition arm. The companies around it cover the rest of the chain — which is why our network reaches mechanisation and training, and why the crop we buy has a standing home.

Let's trade
Tell us the specification and the date
Whether you are a miller who needs cover through the lean season, an exporter after a graded parcel, or a farmer group looking for a buyer that posts its price — start with a conversation.
